cronic software package provides Bash script for wrapping cron jobs to prevent excess email sending, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install cronic
cronic is installed in your system.
Make ensure the cronic package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep cronic *
You will get with cronic package name, version, architecture and description in a table
